Willie is the foundation sire of my Dainty Acres Kennel. He was born September 12, 2016 making him almost 6 years old. I chose him because of his fine pedigree and his brain. He is an exquisite example of The AKC Italian Greyhound Breed Standard in conformation, as well as in temperament. The IG is a companion dog for Royalty. They need to be good at indoor manners, potty training and posses an easy temperament that allows servants to care for them. So they should be agreeable to other people walking them, cleaning up after them and grooming them. Willie is an incredibly loyal dog always willing to do what I ask. He has been showing for the last 5 years so he is very good at being handled on a table by complete strangers and traveling. He is great at going potty outside, but he was a breeding partner for 4 years and will mark if nervous. He is super cooperative wearing a belly band, the band just reminds him not to potty, and he is a Rockstar at holding it.
Willie does not like being contained in a Kennel or Xpen for long. He can jump even my 48" Xpens. The yard is 6' wire mesh, but if he wanted out, I wouldn't put it past him to find a way out. He has never climbed, jumped or dug out, but then he has never had a reason to want out. I have an extra large crate that I set on a table in the livingroom, we call it the bird cage. He wants to see all that is going on in the house, and is comfortable being in there as long as I don't make him stay in it too long. He loves going for walks, sitting on my lap and sleeping in my bed. He is the poster child for the AKC Breed Standard, the companion dog of Royalty.
6/4/22: Announcing the retirement of our first breeding pair, CH Infiniti Cashmere & Amayla's Macchiato. This proven pair passed on their incredible quality in structure, movement and brains. I am excited about the legacy that CH Dainty's Big Red and the rest of the pups from these beauties will leave in the hearts of humans and the AKC registry. I pray for God's Blessing on my fur-babies and their fur-families and I thank you for loving my babies so well. You are making a difference in this little Italian Greyhound world we live in!
Sunday March 8, 2020 Amayla’s Macchiato earned his first major AKC point under Judge Angela Pickett at the San Antonio Kennel Club conformation show in Kerrville Texas.
Thank you Judge Angela Pickett for seeing brilliance in our two super stars. Willie looked great and did great. Willie won his first major, and took Best of Winners.
July 2017 Amayla's Macchiato won Best of Breed Puppy at the Houston Kennel Club thanks to Mr. Randy E Garren at the Houston World Series of Dog Shows. Going on to place 4th in the Puppy Group under Teresa Nail.
